Double Feature Friday with Sunrise Sailing

Sunrise Sailing

Supplies:

 

·       Stamp Sets: Sunrise Sailing Bundle (165497)

·       Card Stock and Paper: Strawberry Slush (165625), Basic White (159276), Cloud Cover (165621), Basic Black (121045), Designer Series Paper Stack 2025-2027 (165300)

·       Stamp Pads: Strawberry Slush (165286), Tuxedo Memento Black (132708), Cloud Cover (165284)

·       Tools: Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder (165496)

·       Miscellaneous: Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430), Stampin’ Seal Adhesive (152813)

 

Measurements:

 

·       Strawberry Slush  8 ½ x 5 ½  

·       Cloud Cover 5 ¼ x 4

·       Basic White/Basic Black/Designer Paper for diecutting

 

 

Instructions:

 

1.     Fold Strawberry Slush in ½ for card base  

2.     Stamp water/waves on Cloud Cover and attach to card base

3.     Stamp large boat sails on DSP and die cut

4.     Stamp boat in Memento on Basic White, stamp boat hull in Strawberry Slush and die cut.

5.     Add DSP sails to boat on white and attach to card using Dimensionals

6.     Die cut clouds and add to card front

7.     Die cut boats in Basic Black and sails from DSP and adhere together.

8.     Add to card front

9.     Stamp birds in Memento

10. Stamp sentiment in Strawberry Slush, hand cut and add to card

·       Tools: Sunrise Sailing Hybrid Embossing Folder (165496); Blending Brushes (153611);

·       Miscellaneous: Multipurpose Liquid Glue (110755); Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine (149653)

 

Measurements:

 

·       Secret Sea CS: 8½” x 5½”, scored at 4¼”; 3” x 4¼”

·       Basic White CS: 3¾” x 5”; 2½” x 3¾”; scrap for die cut

·       Timid Tiger CS: 2” x 3”

·       Strawberry Slush CS: 2” x 1¾”

·       Cloud Cover CS: 1½” x 1¼”; 2½” x 1”

·       Darling Duckling CS: 1½” x 3½”

 

Instructions:

 

1.     Crease Secret Sea CS for card base. Adhere the Timid Tiger, Strawberry Slush, Darling Duckling and Cloud Cover panels to the larger Basic White CS piece as shown. Adhere to the cardfront.

2.     Use blending brushes to add Darling Duckling, Timid Tiger, and Strawberry Slush inks to the smaller Basic White CS to resemble a sunset. Adhere to the Secret Sea CS piece.

3.     Die cut the water from the Cloud Cover CS (2½” x 1”) then adhere to the bottom of the inked Basic White CS.  Die cut the cloud from the Basic White CS scrap.

4.     Using the Secret Sea ink, stamp the seagulls on the sunset background. Stamp the sentiment on the cloud and adhere to the card front. Stamp the sailboat on the Basic White CS scrap and die cut it. Stamp the sails with Strawberry Slush ink.

5.     Adhere the sailboat to the card front.

Kintsugi is a Japanese style of fixing broken pottery with gold to make it even better! 

This card features the vases die cut from the Kintsugi Inspirations DSP. 

This card is all about the extra details. Background stamping, to extra die cuts, to the amazing DSP. 

This card features the Joined Together 3D Embossing Folder and is a Fun Fold card!

I'm Rachael Coon, with the Joy of Stampin' with Rachael and am from Los Angeles, California. I used the Kintsugi Inspirations Suite for my creations.

Kintsugi, literally means "golden joinery".

It is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending cracks with lacquer dusted with gold or silver. But it is MORE than just a repair technique. It is a philosophy that embraces the BEAUTY of imperfections and history of of an object rather than to hide them.

The gold Flower Accents are flat with a great texture to them. They are currently unavailable but you can sign up to be emailed once they are back in stock.

The Kintsugi Inspirations Specialty DSP has two sheets of paper that you can die cut 3 images out with. The best part of the DSP is that is is a "larger" size then the die and it create no "white" outlines for the vases and cups.

The Joined Together 3D Embossing folder is one of my favorite things about this suite!

It has 5 different textures on just one embossing folder. Each pattern divided by "cracks".

So you can use just a part of the embossing folder for the texture you want or like my card, use the whole embossing folder to see them all.
