2023 Graduation Cards

I usually don't share or use a lot of my retired products EXCEPT for custom made cards!
I started off with those Large Number Dies (retired) in Basic White and glued them on at a slant.

I used different (current) Embossing Folders onto the retired Pacific Point cardstock.
Painted Texture
Timber
Fern
Quatrefoil
Timeworn
You can see all of the Embossing Folders from my online store when you click HERE

I used the Congratulations from the Charming Sentiments stamp set.

My friend and team mate, Natalie Woll, taught me how to make the cute mortarboard hats using retired punches (Balloon Punch and Tailored Tag Punch). I used a brad to secure my twine (I made a slip knot to attach to the brad) and divided the twine in half to make it look more full.

I LOVE how these turned out and better yet, my customer loved them too!

Tuesday's Tip at Ten- Masking the Little Monkey

Tuesday's Tip at Ten...Use a Mask on Your Monkey!

To make the tail of the monkey to look like it is holding onto the tree, make a mask for the monkey and then stamp the branch.

Above was the card that inspired me, and that I got through a swap. I just didn't like the tree line on the monkey's tail. So with 3 extra steps...
1. Stamp monkey tail on masking paper or Post it Note.
2. Fussy cut out the monkey.
3. Place the mask over the stamped monkey and stamp over the mask with the branch.

I was able to create a monkey with a clean tail, no lines.

New Catalog Demo Swaps

The Demo Swap Stampers are at it again! Every other month a small group of stampers meet together to swap and create one Make N Take together. Sadly, I never get to attend (event is in Utah, I am in California) but I get to participate through the mail.
Theme: Use 2 new or 2 returning colors.

Below you will see the swaps, the name of the swapper and a link to the stamp set they used. For any of the products you see you can order them from my online store.
Above is the card I made for the swap. You can learn how to make that Spinner Card when you click HERE.

Tuesday's Tip at Ten-Labeling You Embossing Folders

Tuesday's Tip at Ten...Label your embossing folders!!!

Either with a sharpie, label maker, or cut out the words from the packing and tape on with clear tape. Which ever method you use, you will thank me for it.

I like to place the label on the center top because of the way I store mine upright. This way I can thumb through them and find the one I'm looking for easier.

Stamp Set of the Month- Little Monkey

My Stamp Set of the Month for May is the Little Monkey set! When you order this set in May for $21 from my online store, I'll send you this card kit for FREE!!!
This is also the kit my Team Members, Royal Heart Stampers, can order for just $10. It is one of their team perks! Through this kit I try to show different methods on how to use the set. You'll have to let me know which card is your favorite and why!

Here is my "Just swinging by" monkey. I was inspired by this one from a swap. You can see that post by clicking HERE.

The cool thing about my swinging monkey is that I masked his tail. So it could look like it is swinging on the branch even more. If you wanted to, you could have even masked the branch to make the tail look like it is curled up behind the branch. Either way is great and I love the result.

Measurements
Parakeet Party Cardbase: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored @ 4 1/4"
Crumb Cake: 4" x 5 1/4" (die cut out)
Basic White: 2 5/8" x 3 7/8"
4" x 3/4"

Steps
  1. Measure, score, and cut your paper.
  2. Die cut the Crumb Cake using the Scallop and Contour Die.
  3. Stamp all over the cardbase with the cluster of leaves with Parakeet Party ink.
  4. Stamp in Memento ink the swinging monkey in the middle of the Basic White.
  5. Create the monkey mask by stamping on a post it note or Stampin' UP! Masking Paper. Fussy cut the tail and legs and place over the stamped monkey. Stamp the branch over the tail.
  6. Stamp the tip of the branch and the vines above the branch.
  7. Stamp on the 4" x 3/4" Basic White the tip of the branch at the far left corner. Stamp the greeting to the right of that (all in Memento Black).
  8. Color the branch and leaves with your Stampin' Blends (Parakeet Party & Pecan Pie). Color your monkey with Crumb Cake and Ivory.
  9. Assemeble: Glue the Basic White to the Crumb Cake and attach to the cardbase. Attach the Basic White strip with Dimensionals.
  10. Make a double Linen Thread bow and attach with a glue dot on the branch tip.
  11. Embellish with one Pecan Pie Solid Gem.

This sweet Little Monkey girl card I made also for the Stamp & Share Design Team!
My favorite part of her are her cute eyelashes that I drew on with a black marker and the bow in her ear.

She is made with the Little Monkey Builder Punch, which is part of the bundle and if you get the stamp set as a bundle, you will save 10%.

5.     Stamp the branches onto the Basic White and color them in with the Parakeet Party and Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends. Glue the Basic White to the Pecan Pie matte.
6.     Stamp onto the Bubble Bath the heart and fussy cut it out (have stamped side facing down when you attach it with a dimensional.
7.     Glue the DSP onto the cardbase top and bottom. Glue the stamped branches into the center of the cardbase. Attach the scallop label with dimensionals on the bottom of the branches and top of the DSP. Attach the monkey and heart with dimensionals.
8.     Make a tiny bow with the ribbon and attach it to the monkey’s left ear with a Mini Glue Dot.

This card was also inspired by a swap, click HERE to see it.
But I changed out the colors and DSP.

The fun method I used on this one was how I colored in the banana. I don't have the Stampin' Blends yet for Lemon Lolly, but do have the ink pad. Watch the video to see how I was able to color that banana with my Wink of Stella.

Measurements
Thick Basic White Cardbase: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored @ 4 1/4"
Azure Afternoon: 4" x 5 1/4"
3 1/4" x 2 1/4"
Basic White: 2' x 2"
3 3/4" x 5"
Very Vanilla: 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
DSP: 3" x 2"

Steps
  1. Measure, score, and cut your paper.
  2. With the Stitched with Whimsy Die, outline the 2" x 2" Basic White.
  3. Stamp with Pebbled Path Ink onto the Very Vanilla the monkey and the banana. Color the monkey with the Pebbled Path Stampin' Blends and a light shade of pink (Light Petal Pink) for the monkey cheeks. Fussy cut out the monkey.
  4. To color in the banana, ink up a clear block and grab your Wink of Stella. Dip the brush into the ink and lightly color in the banana. Avoid the stamped lines. Fussy cut the banana out.
  5. Stamp onto the Basic White Lemon Lolly bananas as background images and in Pebbled Path the "I'm bananas about you." saying.
  6. Assemble: Glue the Basic White to the Azure matte. Glue on the Azure rectangle and DSP slightly angled. Attach the stitched square with dimensionals and glue on the monkey. Attach the banana with a dimensional.
  7. Embellish with the Lemon Lolly Solid Gem.

This card was part of my New at SU Blog Hop! You can see more pictures of it over HERE.
I also made this one for my team card for the month. I use LOVE this method of coloring the negative and hope that I can inspire others to do the same!

Measurements
Thick Basic White Cardbase: 4 1/4" x 11" scored @ 5 1/2"
Basic White: 3 1/2" x 4 3/4"
3" x 2" (die cut circles)

Steps
  1. Measure, score and cut your paper.
  2. Die cut 3 Basic White circles. 2 small and 1 medium.
  3. Die cut with the Stitched with Whimsy the Basic White and then stamp all over with the bananas with the Lemon Lolly ink and stamp the saying with Memento Black.
  4. With Memento Black, stamp a monkey onto the circles (swinging monkey on the medium circle).
  5. Color around the monkeys with Boho Blue, Parakeet Party, and Pool Party Stampin' Blends.
  6. Assemble: Glue on the Basic White to the cardbase. Attach the 3 circles with dimenionals, starting with the center circle.
  7. Embellish with 3 Lemon Lolly Solid Gems.
