Tuesday's Tip at Ten- Paper for Punches

Tuesday's Tip at Ten with Stampin' UP! Punches! Punches are one of my favorite things to use when making card, tags, and especially punch art. But sometimes it is hard to know how much paper you would need to punch out an image. My tip to you is all you need is at least a 3 x 3 square of paper for any SU punch! If you have that amount you could use anyone of them and create a successful punched out image!

Right now a lot of the Stampin' UP! punches are getting ready to retire. Just like the one above, the Apple Builder Punch is only $7.20 right now! Click on the link below to order it before it gone for good!

Miss Monday Cards-So Sentimental

Miss Monday Cards with the retiring So Sentimental stamp set! This great stamp is getting ready to retire on May 3rd, 2021 and so I knew I needed to use it before it wasn't available to show you how wonderful it is!
Below is the link for the bundle with this stamp set.

I made two cards with just two differences. Can you spot them? (answers below)

The Fun part of this stamp set is that it has dies that go along perfectly with them, the Stitched So Sweetly Dies. Those are NOT retiring and you will see them again in the next catalog. I used 3 dies and cut them all out of that first big image.

Be sure to carry over the confetti theme to the inside of the card. I left the center blank so it could be used for Birthdays or anything you would celebrate!

This one I kept really simple and didn't stamp the confetti on the front and only used dimensionals for the scalloped border piece.

This one I added the confetti under the word confetti and used dimenionals to pop up the center label.

You can make this card too by visiting my online store and following the steps below.

Throwback Thursday- Wood Crate Dies

Today's Throwback Thursday comes to you with ideas to make with your Wood Crate Dies. I made these for my upcoming Spring Boutique where I will be selling handmade items using paper. California has some of the best fresh strawberries and I thought it would be fun to make some strawberry treat holders.

I made two different kinds. One in Gray Granite using the Hardwood (retired) stamp set. Then attaching the cute little rooster. I filled that one with Lindor Strawberry Chocolates and attached a green stem from the Strawberry Builder Punch. Then I made one in Emerald Envy (remember that color) and filled it with the hard strawberry candies. I even used the Buffalo Check stamp set to create a basket like look.

Here is a top view so you can see the candies a little bit better.

Close up on that little rooster which was part of the Wood Crate Dies!

I hope this throwback has given you ideas on what to create with your Wood Crate Dies!

I used the mountain stencil for this one 3 times and just moved it up and picked a different outline to use. The Ombre flowers are really easy to make. Watch the video and see how I use a sponge to create that look.

Measurements
Terracotta Tile Cardbase: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Terracotta Tile: 4 x 5 1/4
Basic White scrap

Steps
  1. Measure, score, and cut your paper.
  2. Emboss the 4 x 5 1/4 with the Ornate Floral Embossing folder.
  3. Die cut a stitched rectangle in Basic White.
  4. Stamp the floral image in Daffodil and sponge on the top the Terracotta and sponge on the bottom the Seaside Spray. Stamp in the bottom middle of the stitched rectangle. Don't reink and stamp again on the left and right of the center.
  5. Using the mountain stencil and the Seaside Spray, create 3 mountains. Use a post it note to help cover the areas you don't want inked and to help get the stencil in place.
  6. Stamp "congratulations" onto a scrap of Basic White in Terracotta and punch it out with the Everyday label punch.
  7. Assemble card: attach the ribbon to the bottom. Glue on your layers to the cardbase. Attach the stitched rectangle with dimensionals. Attach bow with glue dot. Attach label with mini dimensionals.
  8. Embellish with the Elegant Faceted Gems.

This one also uses an embossing folder to add texture, has the Ombre trees, but uses the Cloud Stencil to create an open air look.

Measurements
Pretty Peacock Cardbase: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Pretty Peacock & Basic White: 4 x 5 1/4

Steps
  1. Measure, score, and cut your paper.
  2. Emboss with the evergreen folder the 4 x 5 1/4 Pretty Peacock.
  3. Die cut a medium size stitched Rectangle in Basic White.
  4. Stamp half of the trees in Old Olive and the top half in Pretty Peacock. Then without inking again, stamp just below your first set of trees. Do that to both sides of the bottom of the stitched rectangle.
  5. Stamp "Here's to you" in Peacock on the top of the stitched Rectangle.
  6. Using Pool Party and the cloud stencil, create the clouds. Use the stencil twice and just lower it the second time.
  7. Wrap linen thread around the base of the trees twice and tie a bow.
  8. Assemble: glue the emboss piece to the cardbase. Glue the Basic White to the inside. Attach the stitched rectangle with dimensionals

This card is so much fun because it has no words and could be used for anything, literally. I used the sun stencil to create this outdoor mountain view.

Measurements
Rococo Rose Cardbase: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Basic White: 4 x 5 1/4 (inside)

Steps
  1. Measure, score, and cut your paper.
  2. Die cut a stitched rectangle in Bumblebee and in Old Olive (one size bigger).
  3. Die cut 2 Old Olive trees and 2 Peacock mountains
  4. Layer the mountains together and die cut them with the stitched rectangle
  5. Use the sun stencil with Bumblebee ink very carefully (see video).
  6. Attach the mountains with dimensionals to the Bumblebee. Then attach one tree with glue and the other with dimensionals.
  7. Glue your rectangles together and wrap lined thread around it twice and tie a bow.
  8. Attach to the cardbase with glue and the Basic White to the inside.

This starry night sky over the mountains has such a warm feel to it. These color combos are not my normal ones but I really love how they have turned out!

Measurements
Seaside Spray Cardbase: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Basic White: 4 x 5 1/4
1/2 x 4 (trim to size)

Steps
  1. Measure, score, and cut your paper.
  2. Die cut two stitched rectangles: smaller one in So Saffron, and larger one in Pretty Peacock.
  3. Punch 1 inch circle in Terracotta Tile.
  4. Die cut one Night of Navy mountains and cut in half.
  5. Stamp in Seaside Spray on the Basic White strip your saying and trim to fit.
  6. Create the stars with the star stencil using Bumblebee Ink
  7. Glue 1 mountain down (leave the top unglued) and slip the sun behind it.
  8. Attach the other mountain with dimensionals and the label too.
  9. Attach all your layers to the cardbase.

Tuesday's Tip at Ten- Baby Shark Tags

Tuesday's Tip at Ten is to add tags to all your gifts! Don't have time to make a card or not a lot of supplies, try making a gift tag and make it to match your gift. I love making Baby Hooded Towels as my go to gift for Baby Showers. These ones I made to sell at my Spring Boutique this Saturday and wanted to add a cute tag to match.  Here is how I made this tag:

  1. Cut Pool Party & Basic White 2 x 4 1/4. Tag punch the top with the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch.
  2. Emboss the Pool Party with the Seabed 3D Folder
  3. Cut 2 x 3 Pacific Point and die cut the waves from the Shark Dies.
  4. Die cut the Pumpkin Pie fish.
  5. Stamp in Memento Ink the shark and stamp the inside with Mango Melody. Die cut him out.
  6. Stamp Baby and Shark in Black and fussy cut out.
  7. Attach everything with glue or dimensionals and stamp on the Basic White a "to and from".
  8. Embellish with the Opal Rounds.

Bonus: How to make the Hooded Towel

Supplies
Small Towel
Hand Towel (cut in half)
15 inches of ribbon
  1. Buy the smallest cheapest towel from Walmart. I can't remember the size, but they are small and have a matching hand towel. (I think like $2.50 for body towel and $.98 for the hand).
  2. Cut the hand towel in half.
  3. Fold the finished edge of the hand towel up about 4 inches and pin on the ribbon. Unfold and sew the ribbon on.
  4. Once ribbon is on, fold the finished edge back up, and zig zag sew alone it.
  5. Flip the hood inside out and sew together the raw edges (where you had cut) with a zig zag stitch to create the hood.
  6. Attach the hood to the body towel by finding the center of the towel by folding it in half and pin on the hood to it. I use a zig zag stitch here and go really slow because the towel layers are super thick.

Royal Hearts Stampers Swaps

An amazing Team Member of mine, Mandy Whitfield, organized Team swaps for the month of February with a Birthday theme! Below are all the swaps from my very own team members and I couldn't love their cards anymore than I do! Scroll through and see which are your favorites!

I created this one and you can see how by hopping over to my other blog post with all of my directions.

Stefanie Wilcox made this card with a lot of the Sale-a-bration items (Darling Donkeys, Paper Blooms DSP) but she did use the fun You Are Amazing stamp set from the Mini Catalog.

This fruity card was made by the talented Natalie Woll. She used the Sweet Strawberry stamp set and the Stitched Whimsy Dies.

Mandy Whitfield made this super clean, and "salty" card using the Friends are Like Seashells.

My sweet friend, Julie Miller, made this Happy card using the Pretty Perennials stamp set! I love the colors she used and her great stamping!

This card was made by the super sweet Debbie Balone. This was her first team swap and she knocked it out of the park! I love the Sweet Ice Cream stamp set and they design she used!

This Fun Fold card was created by a newbie (just this year she joined Stampin' UP!) and I love what she made! Christina Kunzler did amazing job and can inspire many!

Here is the inside of Christina's card! Hope fun is that!!!

Hope you have enjoyed all of these swaps and are inspired to stamp something special today!

Miss Monday Cards- Happiest of Birthdays Fun Fold

Miss Monday Birthday cards made with the Happiest of Birthdays stamp set and Playing with Patterns DSP. I even made these ones with an easy fun fold! I made 10 of  these cards as part of my Stamp Camp swap.

Happiest of Birthdays stamp set

Playing with Patterns DSP

When this card closes it makes the DSP look like it is all one piece.

Here is the one that I added flowers from the Strawberry Builder Punch with pearl centers.

This one I left off the flowers to give it a more simple look and less girly. But don't you love the 2 toned stamped image? That is created by placing the ink on top of only half. You can see how to do it easier when the stamp in on the table and your ink is in your hand. The middle section can overlap and mix into a new color. Just make sure you just do the lighter color first. :)

The fun fold of this card happens with just one extra score line in the middle. It creates a pull open instead of flip.

Which do you like better? Flowers or no flowers?

You can make these cards too by shopping with me at my online store and following my steps below.

  3. Stamp on the 2 1/2 x 3 3/4 Basic White using Crushed Curry first on half of the stamp and the Calypso Coral on the other half. It is okay if the color overlaps in the middle. Glue to the Coral die cut.
  4. Glue the 2 x 5 1/4 onto the Basic White and glue to the inside of the cardbase.
  5. Then glue on the front piece of the DSP.
