A Grand Kid Candle Card

Birthday cards are always needed in my house. I send them to nieces, nephews, siblings, and friends. For my parents and in laws I like to make them Birthday cards to send to their grandkids. So when I saw this stamp set I knew I had to order it (even though I don't have grandkids yet) so I could make cards for them.

*Close up on the candles and the paper texture

To make this card you'll need a couple of new items. First you'll need A Grand Kid stamp set by Stampin' UP! Aren't these sayings great!"We must be related!" is my Mom's favorite thing to say and is perfect for the cards I'll make for her.

You'll also need the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch found on page 169 of the Annual Catalog. This punch has 6 punches in 1 punch! It is amazing and worth it's weight in gold!

For the added texture you'll need the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder as well.

How can you make this card? Just follow the directions below!

Always Recommended

Simply Shammy
Die Cutting Machine
Adhesive

Measurements in inches
Card Base: 4 1/2 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
Crumb Cake: 4 x 5 1/4
                 1 x 2 1/2
                   3/4 x 2 1/2
Stripes of Bumblebee

Steps
1. Cut all your paper out.
2.Run your narrow 2 1/2 inch rectangle die through your die cutting machine on the In Color DSP five times, one in each color.
3. Run your Crumb Cake 4 x 5 1/4 cardstock through your die cutting machine using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder and glue to the front of your card base.
4. Using Tombow (or liquid glue), adhere your 5 candles to the card front. You can line them up straight or make them slightly crooked. I like it to be crooked so I have some wiggle room for error (I am not perfect).
5. Using the Apple Builder Punch and your stripes or scrapes of Bumblebee cardstock, punch out the flame using the leaf part only on the punch. Attach with Tombow above each candle.
6. Using your Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and your Crumb Cake pieces, slide one end into the punch and punch down. Do it on both stripes but only on one side. Stamp your saying "Happy Birthday" in Crumb Cake ink on the smaller strip and glue on top of the larger strip (not lining it up). Cut off extra on the straight end. Make a "nest" with your linen thread and glue to the back of label. Use dimenionals on the back and attach to card. Lastly, embellish with the In color Enamel Dots!

Happy Stampin' Everyone!
