Fun Fold Friday- DSP Cardbase

Have you ever made a card using Designer Series Paper (DSP) as the card base? I hadn't either, until this Fun Fold Friday card! You can pick any 12 x 12 piece of DSP but I chose the Ornate Garden Speciality paper because I love the colors and love how there is no right side up or upside down (something to be mindful while you are scoring). I also used A Grand Kid stamp set by ©Stampin' UP! for my fun sayings!

The back of the card is just as pretty as the front!

While open it has layers that are created by the scoring. These layers help make it thick like a cardstock cardbase (not flimsy).

I love how each layer has a peek-a-boo look to it as we can see each layer.

Front  can be embellished with ribbon and gems.

The inside is surrounded by that DSP and supported with 2 layers of cardstock. Use ink that matching your DSP.

Here are some quick measurements and supplies list. Watch the video below for tricks and tips. Then shop my online store to create your own DSP Fun Fold Card!

Measurements
DSP: 5 1/2 x 12 scored @ 1 3/4, 4 3/4, & 7 3/4
Pear Pizzazz Cardstock: 4 x 5 1/4
Whisper White: 3 3/4 x 5

Steps
  1. Cut and score your cardstock and DSP. Score your DSP with the inside side facing up.
  2. Run your Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz through The Boss (Stampin' Cut and Emboss machine) using the layering circles.
  3. Stamp saying onto the Whisper White circle and glue layers togther.
  4. Use bone folder to crease your score lines and watch video to see how to fold it and glue it down. You'll use glue between the 1 3/4 and 4 3/4 score lines.
  5. Glue your cardstock layers together and attach to cardbase. Close the card and use post it note to mark where to not stamp your inside greeting so that it doesn't show until opened.
  6. Attach about 20-22 inches of Crinkle Seam ribbon around front layer.
  7. Glue on circles by only putting glue on half of the circle.
  8. Embellish with  Glided Gems

Happy Stampin' Everyone!
