Wednesday' Kit Class-Punch Art Food Cards

 


Today's Kit class is completely inspired by my favorite California food and are all things I can find locally in my town of San Pedro. I used all punches or dies to create these card and have very little stamping. Read about why each one is a So Cal thing and then follow the directions below to create your own yummy food Punch Art Cards. California Donuts are the best and be found mostly in beautiful pink boxes! You can find a donut shop on almost every shopping corner. 


Punches & Dies


Make yourself a box of donuts too by following the supplies and steps below.

Supplies
Special Someone Stamp set
Classic Label Punch
Early Espresso Ink & CS
Brushing Bride CS
Crumb Cake CS
Very Vanilla CS
Very Vanilla Twine (retired)
Layering Circle Dies
Layering Oval Dies
1/2" Circle Punch (retired)

Measurements
Early Espresso Cardbase: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored @ 4 1/2
Brushing Bride and Very Vanilla: 4 3/4 x 3 1/2

Steps
  1. Measure and cut paper.
  2. Run Oval through die cutting machine on the Brushing Bride cardstock.
  3. Run your layering circles through your machine and cut out 2 of Early Espresso and 1 Crumb Cake. Then cut out the frosting with the scallop layering circle that is just slightly smaller in Very Vanilla and Brushing Bride.
  4. Mark the center of your frosting and punch out hole with 1/2 inch circle punch. Glue on your frosting to your donut and match up your cutting spot and punch.
  5. Glue donuts in the center of the Very Vanilla cardstock and add the Brushing Bride paper over with dimensionals. 
  6. Tie some twine or string around the box of donuts and attach to card base with dimensionals.
  7. Add a label and a stamp image on the bottom corner and you are done!


Just a mile away is an amazing Strawberry fruit stand that comes out each Summer. They have literally the best strawberries I have ever had and are vine ripened. Picked one day and sold the next! This is another fun food I can find in my neighborhood. 


Punches


You can make yourself some yummy strawberries too all year long by following the supplies and steps below.

Well Written Dies
Twine
Real Red CS
Mossy Meadow CS
Crumb Cake Cardstock
Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder
Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folder

Measurements
Crumb Cake Cardbase: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/2
Crumb Cake: 4 x 5 1/4
Early Espresso: 3/4 x 3 1/2

Steps
  1. Measure and cut your paper.
  2. Run your Crumb Cake through your Stampin' Cut and Emboss Machine (My Boss) with the Pinewood Planks folder. 
  3. Cut with My Boss the "thanks" from the Well Written dies in Mossy Meadow.
  4. Punch with Banner Pick a Punch the Early Espresso and glue on the "thanks".
  5. Punch out in 3 Real Red with the heart punch and then run through My Boss with the Wrapped in Texture Embossing folder.
  6. Punch out in 3 Mossy Meadow the leaf from the Autumn Punch Pack. Glue that to the top of your heart.
  7. Wrap twine to the top of your embossed Crumb Cake and attach with dimensionals to the card base. 
  8. Attach with liquid glue the label of thanks and attach your strawberries with dimensionals.
  9. Embellish with Elegant Faceted Gem.


Street tacos/Food Truck tacos are the best and California is known for having lots of them! There is something so yummy as eating a taco off the street!

2" Circle Punch
Medium Daisy Punch
1 3/8 Scallop Circle Punch or Layering Dies
Tulip Builder Punch
Stitched Nested Label Dies
Brick Wall Embossing Folder
Wrapped in Texture Embossing Folder
Basic Black CS
Daffodil Delight CS and ink
Soft Suede CS
Mango Melody CS
Real Red CS
Granny Apple Green CS
Whisper White CS

*CS= Cardstock

Measurements
Crumb Cake Cardbase: 8 1/2 x 5 1/2
Daffodil Delight: 3 1/2 x 4 3/4

Steps
  1. Measure and Cut your cardbase and Daffodil Delight.
  2. Emboss your Daffodil Delight with the Brick Embossing Folder through My Boss.
  3. Cut out in Basic Black your "hooray" from the well written dies in My Boss.
  4. Cut out in Whisper White a Stitched Nested Label.
  5. Punch in Daffodil Delight a 2 inch circle. Then run in through your embossing machine with the Wrapped in Texture dies. Fold in half (kind of ) and sponge with Daffodil Delight ink.
  6. Punch out your Meat in Soft Suede with 1 3/8 scallop punch or a layering circle die. Cut in half.
  7. Punch out your Lettuce with the top of the Tulip Punch in Granny Apple Green.
  8. Punch out your Salsa and Cheese in Real Red with the Medium Daisy Punch. 
  9. Using just a little liquid glue start building your taco. See Video for layering tips.
  10. Glue all your layers together and attach your taco with a dimensional. Send it out the someone and watch them smile!
