Tuesday's Tip at Ten- Paper Backgrounds

Tuesday's Tip at Ten is all about making "paper" backgrounds for your cards. Stampin' UP! has large stamps that are called "background" stamps because the cover the whole background of a card, but what about making your own background from paper. This isn't another layer, but paper glued on directly to make the background.

This card was made for a swap where I needed to used 2 of the colors. So I knew what stamp set I wanted to use but didn't know how to get the colors there with it. This design made it easy to pick any color I needed and use my stamp set of choice.

I love this stamp set and just knew I had to stamp this saying on the back. It is bound to make someone laugh!

I used the Tech Support stamp set.  This one is soo puny and nerdy at the same time. I just love it!

Supplies
Tech Support Stamp Set
Paper- Soft Seafoam, Basic White, Parakeet Party, Pool Party, Sweet Sorbet, Daffodil Delight
Ink- Parakeet Party
Dimensionals
Liquid Glue
Paper Trimmer

Measurements
Soft Seafoam Cardbase: 4 1/4 x 11 scored @ 5 1/2
Strips of Paper: 4 1/4 x 1/2
4 1/4 x 1/4
Basic White: 1 3/4 x 1 1/8

Steps
  1. Measure, score, and cut your paper.
  2. Stamp in Parakeet Party the saying onto the Basic White.
  3. Stamp in Parakeet Party the fun saying on the back of the card.
  4. Glue the strips of paper onto the cardbase with the wider paper first and then the smaller. Spacing does not have to be perfect but use liquid glue so you can move it around a little.
  5. Attach the Basic White with dimensionals.
  6. Embellish with 3 of the Glossy Dots.

Happy Stampin' Everyone!!!
