Wonderful Wednesday- Paper Pumpkin Sending Good Thoughts Bonus Card

 

Wonderful Wednesday with a Bonus Card idea using the stamps from the July Paper Pumpkin Kit, Sending Good Thoughts!

This card is exactly really simple. No embellishments and just nice layers. But the really cool part is how I made the birds. 

In the kit you get a sheets of dies. Using the "negative" of the die cuts I was able to create more birds. This method could work for any shape from the sheet. I even made one with the bottle (see video). 

The main importance with this one is the "masking". Covering up spots you don't want to have ink on it. You can make this card too or even make your own masks when you die cut or punch out paper. 

Supplies

Sending Good Thoughts Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set

Bird Mask

Ink- Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay, Smoky Slate

Paper- Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy, Basic White

Post It Notes or Masking Paper

Blending Brush

Measurements

Coastal Cabana or Bermuda Bay Cardbase: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4

Night of Navy: 4 x 5 1/4

Basic White: 3 3/4 x 5

Steps

1. Measure, score and cut your paper. 
2. Take the negative sheet of die cuts and line up the birds where you want it. Use masking paper or post it notes to attach to the Basic White. 
3. Use a Blending Brush and Smoky Slate to color in the birds. Remove mask. 
4. About one inch from the bottom, mask off the top of the paper to create a Bermuda Bay line. 
5. Stamp the boat in the water in Night of Navy. 
6. Stamp the saying "sending good thoughts" in Bermuda Bay. 
7. Glue the Basic White to the Night of Navy matte and then attach to the card front.
