Fun Fold Friday- Everyday Thanks Explosion Teacher Card

I am in LOVE with this Teacher Explosion Card and had so much fun making it! I work  during the day at an Elementary School and know how hard teachers work and how well loved they are from their students! So with school just around the corner, the Everyday Thanks stamp set was perfect!

This card has "belly band" to help get it closed. You just slide it off to see the inside of the card.

This pencil has to be my favorite part. Somehow I colored it perfectly with my Stampin' Blends (see video) and fussy cut it out with my Paper Snips.

What makes this card so much fun is the DSP explosion part in the inside! This card was inspired by one of my favorite Demonstrators, Tami White. She shared it a couple of years ago using different products.

Lastly, can I just say how happy I am to have Pretty Peacock back?! I was so sad when it went and it is truly one of my favorite colors to stamp with and even wear.
You can make this card too using the measurements below and shopping from my online store!

Measurements
Pretty Peacock Cardbase: 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" scored @ 2 1/8" on both long ends
DSP: 5 1/4" x 2" (front)
4" x 8" scored @ 2, 4, 6 (inside)
Petal Pink: 2 3/4" x 2 3/4"
Basic White: 2 1/2" x 2 1/2"
3" x 3" (die cut circle)
2" x 3" (pencil)
Belly Band: 11" x 1"

Steps
  1. Measure, score, and cut your paper.
  2. Die cut the Basic White circle and stamp "thanks" in Pretty Peacock.
  3. Stamp in Pretty Peacock the Basic White square but as a diamond shape.
  4. Stamp the pencil in Pretty Peacock all over the inside of the cardbase.
  5. Stamp in Memento Ink the pencil onto Basic White and color with your Stampin' Blends (watch video for tips). Fussy cut it out.
  6. Glue the DSP panels to the front of the cardbase.
  7. Take the 4" x 8" DSP and fold the score lines. Create "x" score lines on each end by folding corner to center score line. Do this on both sides. Pinch the "x" to fold down the DSP to make a triangle on both sides.
  8. Attach the DSP to the center of the inside of the cardbase (see video for tip).
  9. Attach the outside of DSP to the cardbase.
  10. Glue in the Petal Pink and Basic White square.
  11. Close card and create the belly band.
  12. Make a Linen Thread "8" and attach behind the pencil. Use dimensionals to attach to the circle. Then attach circle to the belly band with dimensionals.
  13. Embellish with the Iridescent Pastel Gems.
