Here is my Stamp & Share Crew Design for August!
This card was inspired by my Mother's need for cards to write for her nurses and doctors. She had a horrible bicycle accident on July 23rd and has left her with spinal damage and currently can not walk. She is in a rehab center, unable to do much but what she can do is show show gratitude to those who are helping her get back on her feet, literally. Full story of the accident and my Mom at the bottom.
I hope this card inspires you and that you may make cards for those you are most grateful for everyday.

Happy Stampin' Everyone!!!
With permission, I'm sharing my Mother's,
Shelly Mann , story.
On July 23rd she was in a horrible bike accident. She loves to ride her bike and was on a trail attempting to meet up with friends when she hit a deer. This made her flip over her bike and fall down the trail side near the creek and landed on a boulder/retaining wall.
She was out of sight from the trail and no one could hear her cries of help due to the noise of creek and nearby traffic. She was unable to move
her legs or reach her cell phone. About 2 hours later, across the creek a man saw her and asked if she needed help. He did not have a cell phone and had to go flag someone down. The person he found (photo below) was someone who went to church with us when I was a teen but he didn't recognize her at first. He calls 911 and the firefighters had struggles getting her out because of the steepness of the hillside and had to use special equipment to get her out safely. That crew that saved her (photo below) had a firefighter who is related to my sister-in-law.
She was brought to the ER and was told she had a severed spine, multiple compression fractures and several broken ribs. She had surgery the next day that fused her T9-L1 vertebrae.
Then she spent about the week in the ICU until her levels were safe. She was just moved to a rehab center in Colorado Springs yesterday.
She currently is unable to walk. She can move her legs slightly but can't feel them. They are unsure how much she will heal and only time will tell.
Looking back, we are so grateful for the little things. Grateful her body didn't go into complete shock as she waited to be found. Grateful to the heros, literally, who found her, called 911, and got her safely out. Grateful she didn't roll 2 feet further into the creek and had drown. Grateful for good doctors and nurses who are helping her with her pain. Grateful she is in a place where she can get help. Especially Grateful for everyone who has reached out to her to lift her spirits.
She has a long journey of healing, both physically and emotionally and just ask for prayers at this time.
