This month our theme for the Scrapped! Video Series was to scrap the same photo from Onstage.
I couldn't pick just one and instead want to share my method on how to "set up" a pocket page.
Watch my video on YouTube or scroll down for each step.
Here are my 5 steps to get you started!
1. Print Photos
2. Sort Photos
3. Choose Page Pocket
4. Use Guide
5. Trim Photos
Print Photos
Some scrappers print photos at home and only print what they need. I send all of my photos to Walgreens and print photos from that one event and then pick and choose which ones I want to use. I rather have them all then regret missing one. I like Walgreens because they always have discounts and there is literally one an every corner (or least nearby).
Sort Photos
Next, I like to sort photos by which need to be together on a page. I sort them typically by 3 different ways. But pick which way you like to sort best for you. I will sort by:
1. Same Outfits
2. Same Colors
3. Same Events
Choose Photo Pocket Pages
The Variety Photo Pocket Pages comes in 5 different layouts.
Line up your sorted photos behind each layout to see which will fit best and where. It can be a numbers game, too. If you have 4 photos, the four 3"x 4" page could be the best. Or you can do a side by side layout with the two 4" x 6" layout. Your photos may not fit into the pocket page you have and you may need to do some "trimming.
Use Guide
When cutting a photo to fit the photo page, you may need to use a guide. I like to use the clear window sheets you get from a photopolymer stamp set or order the window sheets from the online store.
I cut the window sheet into 3" x 4" and put it over the photo that needs to be cut.
I then use a pen or pencil and trace around the guide.
Next I used my Paper Trimmer and follow the pen marks.
Be sure to check for fit and trim more if needed.
*Tip: The photo slides in easier when cut at 3 15/16" x 2 15" x 16"
Trim Photos
The easiest way to get a straight line is to use a Paper Trimmer. Scissors could work in a pinch, but a Paper Trimmer is the BEST way to go!
Now you have all the prep work done, you are ready to be creative and design your pages by adding stamps, Designer Series Paper, or Memories & More card packs!
Be sure to visit my online supplies to get it all.
Happy Stampin' Everyone!!!
