A Grand Kid Candle Card

Birthday cards are always needed in my house. I send them to nieces, nephews, siblings, and friends. For my parents and in laws I like to make them Birthday cards to send to their grandkids. So when I saw this stamp set I knew I had to order it (even though I don't have grandkids yet) so I could make cards for them.

*Close up on the candles and the paper texture

To make this card you'll need a couple of new items. First you'll need A Grand Kid stamp set by Stampin' UP! Aren't these sayings great!"We must be related!" is my Mom's favorite thing to say and is perfect for the cards I'll make for her.

You'll also need the new Lovely Labels Pick a Punch found on page 169 of the Annual Catalog. This punch has 6 punches in 1 punch! It is amazing and worth it's weight in gold!

For the added texture you'll need the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder as well.

How can you make this card? Just follow the directions below!

Measurements in inches
Card Base: 4 1/2 x 11 scored at 5 1/2
Crumb Cake: 4 x 5 1/4
                 1 x 2 1/2
                   3/4 x 2 1/2
Stripes of Bumblebee

Steps
1. Cut all your paper out.
2.Run your narrow 2 1/2 inch rectangle die through your die cutting machine on the In Color DSP five times, one in each color.
3. Run your Crumb Cake 4 x 5 1/4 cardstock through your die cutting machine using the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder and glue to the front of your card base.
4. Using Tombow (or liquid glue), adhere your 5 candles to the card front. You can line them up straight or make them slightly crooked. I like it to be crooked so I have some wiggle room for error (I am not perfect).
5. Using the Apple Builder Punch and your stripes or scrapes of Bumblebee cardstock, punch out the flame using the leaf part only on the punch. Attach with Tombow above each candle.
6. Using your Lovely Labels Pick a Punch and your Crumb Cake pieces, slide one end into the punch and punch down. Do it on both stripes but only on one side. Stamp your saying "Happy Birthday" in Crumb Cake ink on the smaller strip and glue on top of the larger strip (not lining it up). Cut off extra on the straight end. Make a "nest" with your linen thread and glue to the back of label. Use dimenionals on the back and attach to card. Lastly, embellish with the In color Enamel Dots!

Measurements
in inches
Card base: Just Jade 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored at 4 1/4
Early Espresso 3 3/4 x 5
DSP  3 5/8 x 4 7/8

Steps
  1. Cut out all cardstock and DSP using your paper trimmer.
  2. Stamp your floral image using Memento Ink onto your Whisper White Cardstock. Use your blends to color and fussy cut around the image with your snips. Use wink of stella to flowers to add some sparkle. Set aside.
  3. Grab your Jar punch and DSP and center on bottom, pushing the punch up as far as it will go and punch. Save the jar image in the DSP. Punch out a window sheet with the Jar as well. Stamp on window sheet with Stazon your stems. Use glue dot to attach both DSP and window jar together at the top of the jar.
  4. Line up your Early Espresso cardstock with your DSP (don't glue down). Put a little bit of glue where the jar cut out is and place the punched DSP/window sheet jar into it's spot (will fit perfectly). Remove the DSP top for now.
  5. Glue a couple of gems onto the jar and give a pinch of loose gems. Then remove the adhesive from the bottom of the Mason Jar dome and line up perfectly over punches jars. Remove the top adhesive strip on the dome and add adhesive to the Early Espresso cardstock and lay DSP over the dome and glue it all down.
  6. Glue on your fussy cut colored flowers and tie a bow with the Just Jade gingham ribbon and attach to the top of Mason jar dome with a glue dot.
  7. For the "Thank You" label you'll punch out some Early Espresso cardstock using the Classic Label punch. Stamp your "Thank You". Then make your label smaller buy feeding one end through the punch. Punch to size needed. Glue on the bottom right side of jar.
  8. Attach it all to the card base with dimenionals and you can shake the card all you want!

*Close up so you can see the Flowers of Every Season Gems that move when shaken!

Beautiful World Double Dutch Gate Fold

Create your own Beautiful World card using Stampin' UP!'s new World of Good Suite found in the 2020-2021 Annual Catalog pg 24-26. I was able to create a Double Dutch Gate Fun Fold card using these products. Also, I am featuring the new In Color, Misty Moonlight, in this monochromatic style card.
*Side View
The best part of the Double Dutch Gate fold is the way the card stands up by it's self. Similar to an easel card (but way cooler). Be sure to stamp a fun saying behind the bottom gate.
