Cute Fruit- Watermelon Card

Hi Stampin' Friends! I hope you enjoy this fun card layout! It isn't a "fun fold" exactly but sure is fun! I made this with the 4th of July in mind. Because to me nothing says "America" like red, white, and blue and watermelon. I was going to feature it on Fun Fold Friday but will just share it here with you.

Measurements
Card base: Misty Moonlight 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
DSP: 4 x 5 1/4
Cardstock: Misty Moonlight 4 x 4

Steps
  1. Cut and prepare all paper.
  2. Run the smallest stitched square through your die cutting machine with the Whisper White. Also, if you have the Layered Squares find one that is slightly bigger then this stitched shape or cut Misty Moonlight in a 1 3/8 x 1 3/8.
  3. Stamp "One in a Melon" onto your stitched square.
  4. Stamp your watermelon on a scrap of Whisper White. Use Poppy Parade for the inside and Shaded Spruce for the outside. Quickly grab your wink of stella and use on the green rind to help pull the color into the "white space" between the red and green. (see video)
  5. Use your Stamp and Write marker to color in the seeds with the "pen" tip.
  6. Fussy cut your watermelon out and then take a sponge and sponge your green edges green and your red edges red. This helps it have color all over like a real watermelon.
  7.  Run the 4 x 4 Misty Moonlight through your die cutting and embossing machine with the Tasteful Textile folder. Then cut your 4 x 4 Misty Moonlight at an angle with your trimmer by placing the left bottom corner at the 2 and the top of the paper at the 2 1/2.
  8. Glue on DSP to card base. Then use dimenionals on your embossed Misty Moonlight and leave a gap in the middle. Be sure to tie on your ribbon (about 5 inches and use tear tape on the back and attach bow with glue dot) before you attach with the dimenionals.
  9. Use glue and dimenional on your watermelon and your saying and layer over the DSP and texture paper.
  10. Use your bone folder to make the fold nice and crisp and you've made this wonderful watermelon card.
