Fun Fold Friday- Cute Fruit Watermelon

Today's Fun Fold for Friday is a Red, White, and Blue one and is 100% American with this cute fruit watermelon image! The 4th of July is tomorrow here in America and it isn't a 4th of July celebration without watermelon (am I right). So I knew I had to think of something that included it.

The card it self looks very simple on the outside, but the way it opens and possiblities for the inside are endless. You can create this card like mine by shopping at my online store and following the directions and video below.

Bone Folder

DSP= Designer Series Paper

Measurements
Cardbase: Misty Moonlight 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 score at 2 1/8 on both ends
4 DSP: 2 x 5 1/4
Inside Panel: Whisper White 4 x 5 1/4

Steps
  1. Cut and prepare all paper.
  2. Run the smallest stitched square through your die cutting machine with the Whisper White. Also, if you have the Layered Squares find one that is slightly bigger then this stitched shape or cut Misty Moonlight in a 1 3/8 x 1 3/8.
  3. Stamp "One in a Melon" onto your stitched square.
  4. Stamp your watermelon on a scrap of Whisper White. Use Poppy Parade for the inside and Shaded Spruce for the outside. Quickly grab your wink of stella and use on the green rind to help pull the color into the "white space" between the red and green. (see video)
  5. Use your Stamp and Write marker to color in the seeds with the "pen" tip.
  6. Fussy cut your watermelon out and then take a sponge and sponge your green edges green and your red edges red. This helps it have color all over like a real watermelon.
  7. Glue your 4 DSP panels to the card base between edge and score lines. Glue your Whisper White paper to the inside of the card base.
  8. Attach your square layers with glue and pop up with dimenionals on front of card. Glue your watermelon where ever you would like (I glued my in the inside left panel).
  9. Lastly, cut 18 inches of Misty Moonlight ribbon and tied around the closed card!

Happy Stampin' Everyone!
