This box was designed by Karin de Laat, a Dutch speaking Demonstrator. She shared this on a Demo only group and I just LOVE it! I changed very little to her design because it was that wonderful! I hope you love it too!
This box has two parts to it: a bottom and a lid. Below are the measurements and photos of each scoring and cutting step. You can also watch the video at the bottom of this post to help you create this box.
Measurements (inches)
Bottom Coastal Cabana: 9 1/8 x 8 1/4 scored on all sides @ 1 1/2 & 3
Lid/Top Purple Posy: 5 3/8 x 7 3/4
scored on the short side (5 3/8) @ 1 1/2 & 3 7/8
scored on the long side (7 3/4) @ 1 1/2, 4 3/4, & 6 1/4
Steps
Bottom of Box
1. Cut your Coastal Cabana by 9 1/8 by 8 1/4. Then stamp in Coastal Cabana all four images (on one clear block) on both sides. (See video)
2. Score on each side at 1 1/2 and 3.
4. Remove the corners.
5. Wedge cut the center sections.
6. Trim half way past the score line on all four sides and wedge those new tabs.
7. You bottom is now ready to glue (see video). Glue down opposite sides first, starting with the 9 1/8 side. Then fold in the tabs and glue them over with the long tab. This bottom is double enforced to make it more sturdy and strong.
1. Cut your Purple Posy Cardstock into a 5 3/8 x 7 3/4 and stamp all four images at the same time in Gorgeous Grape on both sides of the paper.
2. Score on the short side 1 1/2 and flip and 1 1/2 on the other side or don't flip and it will be at 3 7/8.
3. Score on the long side 1 1/2, 4 3/4, and 6 1/4.
4. The bottom with have two smaller sections and the top will have just one.
5. At the Center section (the longest part) starting on the right side, you are going to make a diagonal score line from the top left score line (where to two score lines meet) to the bottom right paper edge where the next score line begins. Do this to the other side, but just opposite. Top right to bottom left. See the above image.
6. Crease score lines with bone folder and remove all 4 corners where the score lines meet and cut on the short side up to the center score line.
7. Create a straight cut at the top (where there is one section) on both sides. It will be very small.
8. On the bottom, create tabs by cutting the two outer sections past the score line and then making a wedge cut.
9. Flip your paper over and fold down your diagonal score lines.
10. Using a pencil, make a mark on the paper either left or right of the lid center score line.
11. Flip back over and using that mark, cut a line to the score line.
12. Glue down with tear tape the diagonal sides.
13. Using Seal+, put glue down on the two section. Glue to tabs and then fold over the tab with the bottom section. (See Video)
14. Attach the lid to the bottom by placing liquid glue on the lid tab and sliding into the bottom. *Make sure it fits nicely before you glue down and make another small straight cut as needed.
15. Tie on about 15-20 inches of ribbon to the box.
16. Die cut 2 of the smallest stitched circles and stamp your chick on one of them. Color with Stampin' Blends. *To make it shiny use Versamark and Clear embossing powder on the whole thing.
17. Glue stitched circles together and make a tiny hole punch at the top.
18. Attach the tag with linen thread to the ribbon. You should be able to slide the ribbon on and off with ease. Fill with your favorite Easter Treats!
