The Joy of Stampin' with Rachael: New at SU Blog Hop: Words & Wishes Birthday Fun Fold

Welcome to the NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative paper crafting ideas to share with you and help get you crafting! This month we are sharing different Fun Fold Cards for Birthdays!

I used the Words & Wishes Dies to create the front of the card!

These Dies are so much fun because not only do they have the dies to cut out stamped images but the words with the outline of the word. The outline gives a "bubble word" effect and makes the words more sturdy and less fragile.

I made this set for a Card Swap, but it would make for a great gift to give to someone (handmade cards are always a party favorite)!

This layout you can switch up with whatever color of cardstock you have and favorite DSP!

The fun happens when you open the card and create an Easy Easel card just by adding one extra score line.

Supplies:

· Stamp Sets: None

· Cardstock and Paper: Secret Sea (CS) (165624); Barely Blush Stock (167689); Basic White (166780); Flirty Flamingo (141416); Beautiful Ordinary Designer Series Paper (DSP) (167553)

· Stamp Pads: None

· Tools: Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine (149653); Words & Wishes Dies (167894); Hearts of Love 3D Embossing Folder (167071)

· Miscellaneous: Stampin’ Dimensionals (104430); Stampin’ Seal Adhesive (152813); Multipurpose Glue (110755), Adhesive Sheet (152334); 2026-2028 In Color Butterflies (167656)

Measurements:

· Secret Sea: 5 ½” x 8 ½” scored @ 4 ¼” & 2 1/8”, 4 ¼” x 3”

· Barely Blush: 4” x 5 ¼”, 4 ½” x 3 ¼” (die cut center)

· Flirty Flamingo: 4 ¼” x 3”

· Basic White: 4” x 5 ¼”

· DSP: 3 ¾” x 5”

Instructions:

1. Measure, score, and cut your paper with your Paper Trimmer.

2. Die cut the outline of “Happy” and “Birthday” with the Barely Blush center (avoid the edges).

3. Put the Adhesive Sheet on the back of the Flirty Flamingo cardstock and die cut the “Happy” and “Birthday”.

Remove the backing and attach to the Barley Blush die cut outline. *Tip: The “i” is hard to get the sticker sheet off. I just used liquid glue for the dot instead.

4. Emboss the 4 1/4” x 3” Secret Sea and emboss the far-right edge (on the 4 inch side) of the Basic White (about 1 inch).

5. Assemble: Attach the DSP to the Barely Blush matte. Put Stampin’ Seal Adhesive to just the lower half of the back of the Barely Blush and attach to the cardbase below the 2 1/8” score line. Glue the embossed Secret Sea to the Barely Blush and attach it to the DSP with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to attach the “Happy” and “Birthday”. Glue the Basic White to the inside of the card.

6. Embellish with 4 of the Barely Blush butterflies. Two on the front and one inside to help the easel card stay standing.
