This card shows how to make a two toned hat by cutting out 2 hats and gluing them together. It also used the 3D Brick & Mortar Embossing Folder.

This hat might just be my favorite of the 3. You can make it too by shopping at my online store and following the steps below.

Measurements
Misty Moonlight Cardbase: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Old Olive: 4 x 5 1/4
2 Crumb Cake: 3 7/8 x 5 1/8

Steps
  1. Measure, score and cut your paper.
  2. Emboss your Crumb Cake with the Brick embossing folder.
  3. Die cut: 1 Misty Moonlight hat, 1 Soft Suede Hat, Old Olive center circle and stitched rectangle, and a Mango Melody lighting bolt.
  4. Stamp in Old Olive onto the stitched rectangle.
  5. Hat: cut the Soft Suede hat and attach it the the brim of the Misty Moonlight. Glue on circle and lighting bolt and attach the whole hat with dimensionals.
  6. Assemble: Glue all your layers to the cardbase and to the inside of the card. Attach hat and rectangle with dimensionals.

This hat is created with the new Linen Specialty paper. What makes it so special is that it has adhesive already on the back of it. It is pretty cool and can be stamped on and die cut out.

Evergreen Forest Embossing Folder
Linen Specialty Paper

Give this hat a try and order the products from my online store and follow the steps below.

Measurements
Evening Evergreen Cardbase: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Sahara Sand: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
Evening Evergreen: 4 x 5 1/4

Steps
  1. Measure, score and cut your paper.
  2. Emboss your Evergreen with the Evergreen Forest embossing folder.
  3. Die cut: 1 Linen hat, and Sahara Sand stitched rectangle (see video for sizing tip).
  4. Stamp in Evergreen onto the Linen paper and die cut out with the outline and the center stitched.
  5. Stamp in Evergreen onto the stitched rectangle.
  6. Hat: Use a sponge and color the outline of the hat with the Evergreen Ink. Peel off the backing of the mountain image and attach to hat. Peel of the backing of the hat and attach to the embossed cardstock.
  7. Assemble: Glue all your layers to the cardbase and to the inside of the card. Attach the rectangle with dimensionals.

Not all hats need to be manly looking. I made this girly card using the DSP from the Pattern Party Paper and added bling with some champagne rhinestones.

Ornate Floral Embossing Folder

I created this hat with 2 different looks. One I stamped in Misty Moonlight the hat first and then die cut it out. The other one I just die cut the the hat out of the DSP. Both look awesome for different reasons!

Which hat is your favorite? Give this girly one a try by following the steps below.

Measurements
Blushing Bride Cardbase: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Misty Moonlight: 4 x 5 1/4
Blushing Bride: 3 3/4 x 5

Steps

  1. Measure, score and cut your paper.
  2. Emboss your Brushing Bride with the Ornate Floral embossing folder.
  3. Die cut: 1 DSP hat, , DSP center shape and stitched rectangle in Basic White, and a Blushing Bride  star. Optional: stamp the hat in Misty Moonlight onto the DSP first and then die cut out.
  4. Stamp in Blushing Bride onto the stitched rectangle.
  5. Hat: Attach the center shape. Use a dimensional for the star. Add about 14-16 rhinestones to the hat below or above the brim stitch line. Attach hat with dimensionals at an angle.
  6. Assemble: Glue all your layers to the cardbase and to the inside of the card. Attach hat and rectangle with dimensionals.
