Stampin' Blends
This Feels Like Home card was created with Stampin' UP! Blends. You can use any assortment you have. Some colors I used were: Just Jade, Daffodil Delight, Gray Granite, Pool Party, Shaded Spruce, Crumb Cake, Bermuda Bay, and Soft Seafoam.
I torn the edges of the paper to create the "out of a hole" look and left it without a greeting on the front.
Here is a close up look at some of the blends I used. What color would you use for your front door?
Measurements
Thick Basic White: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Gray Granite: 4 x 5 1/4
Basic White: 4 x 5 1/4
Steps
- Measure, score, and cut your paper.
- Emboss the Gray Granite with the Brick & Mortar embossing folder and attach to the cardbase.
- Stamp in Memento Black ink onto the 4 x 5 1/4 Basic White and color the Stampin' Blends of your choice.
- Tear the edges off the Basic White and glue down onto the brick.
- Stamp you favorite saying in the inside.
Water coloring & Watercolor Pencils
This card uses two different methods to get the water color look. One with the water color pencils and a blender pen and the other with ink and the Water Painter.
Because we are using "water" techniques you will need to use either water color paper or what I used was the Shimmery White. It is a thicker white and works really well to get wet and not fall apart.
If you don't love coloring you also might want to try just the strip of color like this card uses.
Measurements
Gray Granite Cardbase: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Poppy Parade: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
Shimmery White: 4 x 5 1/4
4 x 1 1/4
Steps
- Measure, score, and cut your paper.
- Using your Stamperatus and Stazon Ink, stamp your main image and your saying. Mark below on the grid where you want your strip of pop of color to be and remove the stamped image and line up the 4 x 1 1/4 stripe.
- With your water painter go around the big image with just a little water. Pick up some Pool Party ink and add just a little blue all around. Let dry or use your heating tool to help it try faster.
- Color with your water color pencils and blend with your blender brush.
- Assemble: Glue your Shimmery to the Poppy Parade. Glue that to the cardbase. Add the strip of of color with dimensionals.
Ink
This style is the most classic and easiest to make. It is a mono tone card using the Designer Series Paper as the main focus and how we chose the color. This allows the details of the stamp to really shine!
Switch it up and try all sorts of colors for this layout.
Measurements
Thick Basic White: 4 1/4 x 11 scored @ 5 1/2
Night of Navy: 4 1/8 x 5 3/8
3 1/8 x 3 1/8
Basic White: 3 x 3
DSP: 4 x 5 1/4
Steps
- Measure, score, and cut your paper.
- Stamp your door image and saying in Night of Navy onto the 3 x 3 Basic White.
- Glue the mattes together and attach to the cardbase. Use dimensionals to pop up the image.
