Tuesday's Tip at Ten- Decorating Envelopes with Leftover DSP

Tuesday's Tip at Ten! Need some quick ideas on how to dress up your Holiday envelopes???
I love this one because it uses "scraps" of paper from the cards you make and you can match the card by using the same Designer Series Paper.

All I do is measure how long the envelope is and pick a width. Stampin' UP! envelopes are 5 3/4" x 4 3/8". So I already knew my length would be the 5 3/4". Then I measured that to be 1/2" for my width. I would not go over 1 1/4 inch because you will still need space to write.

Front: If attaching the DSP to the front with liquid glue be sure to give yourself space from the bottom ( about 1/2 inch to 3/4 of an inch) because the post office needs a spot to leave their "marks".

Back: For the back, I just glued it to the bottom of the envelope.

This is such a simple way to dress up your envelopes and use up some leftover DSP.

Tuesday's Tip at Ten- Sandwich Happiness Recipe

I recently went to a Leadership training in New Orleans for Stampin' UP! We had lots of great presentations there but one that stood out to me is where she gave a recipe for being HAPPY.
Sometimes in our lives we are so busy trying to do this and that we forget how important it is to our health to just be happy. They say you are more productive throughout the day when you start with something good and end your day with something good. The key to this recipe is to sandwich your day. Here is the recipe and some suggestions.

1. Do something simple that makes you happy.
When you wake up in the morning do something that makes you happy first thing. It could be as simple as a cup of coffee or hot cocoa. Maybe putting on your favorite lotion or reading a spiritual message. This is what is going to set your mood for the rest of the day.

2. Do something you don't like...a chore.
It is important to still get things on your do to list done. Your whole day can't be just doing things you like but things that need to get done. Doing those things will give you a sense of achievement and even though you don't like doing it, it will still make you happy once it is done. So get it out of the way! It could be driving kids to school, doing dishes, laundry, or anything you aren't excited to do.

3. Do something creative.
This may just be my favorite part of the recipe. Do something creative. I make cards, that is my creative outlet for sure. But it could be something like taking pictures of beautiful flowers, singing songs, or even making your favorite recipes. There is something to be said for those who create. It is a natural, human desire and is so satisfying to be creative.

4. Do something just for you.
End your day with something just for you. It could be a cup of tea, reading your favorite book, or even just washing your face. All day long you would have served others (which can make you happy too) but do try to end your day on a happy note where you don't forget to take care of yourself. This will remind yourself that you love yourself too, because you took the time for self care and are worth the time!

·       Embossed Basic White layer:  3 3/4" x 3 1/2"

Instructions:

1.     Take the Snowy White Velvet strip and adhere to the Balmy Blue layer

2.     Use an embossing folder from Charming Landscapes to texture the embossed mountain scene layer and adhere above the velvet layer

3.     Wrap the ribbon around the seam between the two layers and secure on the back with tape - adhere to the white card base

4.     Use dies from Snowman Dies to cut out the trees and use a Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the trees in place, their trunks under the ribbon

5.     Use the appropriate tree die to cut a small brown trunk section and use it to extend the brown tree so that the trunk will stick out below the sentiment circle

6.     Use Paper Snips to cut out the deer and bird from paper found in Storybook Gnomes DSP and use Stampin’ Dimensionals to add the deer to your card

7.     Stamp your sentiment and use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere it in place

8.     Cut in half a Stampin’ Dimensional and stack on top of each other to create a double layer – use this to add your bird just underneath the circle

9.     Use a Fine Tip Glue Pen to adhere the three sequins at the top of the card and the four domed clear elements in the snow around the bird & deer – all can be found in Sparkle & Shine Sequins

Tuesday's Tip at Ten- Trees for Tags

When making Christmas tags you don't have to be traditional, be creative!
I love using the Spruced Up Outline Dies to make this cute Tree Tag. That set also has some ornament shapes that would make great tags as well. Pair it with your favorite "to: and from:" and you are in the tag making business! I used the Spruced Up stamp set for my to and from.

Visit my online store to order these dies to help make your Christmas Tags today!

Onstage 2022 Anaheim

On November 11th and 12th I had the lucky opportunity to go to Onstage Local at Anaheim with some of my friends from the Queens of the Stamp Age team.
Onstage is a Stampin' UP! Demonstrator event where we gather together to reveal the New Mini Catalog, learn new Stampin' Techiques, and cheer on others as they walk across the stage for their great year/years of being with Stampin' UP!

For Stampin' UP! Leaders the party starts the night before with Centrestage. This event is for Silver Elite and above. To be a Silver Elite you must have 5 team members, 1 Silver (team member with a team member and high sales), and have at least sales that are $7200 in one year. I've been part of the leaders group for the last 5 years and I just LOVE it! I usually go with team members who are above me but this time I went solo and found a new friend! This is Lisa Teddar, my sweet new friend from North Carolina! She was also flying solo and we quickly became stampin' besties and ended up spending the next day together as well! This is ONE of my favorite things about Stampin' UP! events, I always come back with more friends then I started with.

As a leader I got my hands on the new catalog first and spent the night looking over each page with so much excitement!

At Centrestage we got our Onstage Package (photos soon to come) and a bonus gift...this beautiful umbrella!

Everyone who attended received this box full of Stampin' UP! Goodies. Two stamp sets, new bag (which I love), SU pins for lanyard, pen, notebook, and name tag with ribbons.

Here are the ribbons I wore around my neck! I had a good Stampin' Year!

Here are just some of the things found in the Onstage Box.

Saturday morning I got to be back of the "greet team" and helped check other stampers in and give them their box! Here are my two new friends who I volunteered with. Anastasia, Stampin' Blondie,  on the right even gave a presentation later that day. She is a rock star!

This year I got to Host a fellow Team Member of the Stampamanics, Kathryn Whittaker! Here we are both excited about the new catalog!

During lunch we got to play with a New Stampin' UP! kit!

A big part of Stampin' UP! events that everyone looks forward to is Prize Patrol! On the back of our name tags was a number. When that number was called we would win a fantastic prize. I was number 4 and won the beautiful Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins.

Everyone won this beautiful Specialty Designer Series Paper.

Also, everyone got the NEW stamp set called Decorative Borders.

Of course we did card swapping and table gifts. One friend had these shirts made up for us so we could all match. It says, "Forget princesses, the Queens are in Anaheim". I just LOVED it!

In Photo Left to Right: Melinda, Me, Caroline, Lisa, Phyllis and Kathryn

We only have a handful of Stampers from the Queens Team attend this event but it was so much FUN!!!
Fun was in fact the theme of Onstage this year and how to have it and why we have it! I would say mission accomplished because we had so much fun! It was so good to see these ladies and make new memories with them!
*Look for my next post full of swaps and gifts!

Happy Stampin' Everyone!!!
