New at SU Blog Hop- Two Tone Summer Memories

 

Welcome to the NEW AT SU! Blog hop! We are a group of Stampin’ Up! Independent Demonstrators from around the world who are full of creative paper crafting ideas to share with you and help get you crafting! This month we are sharing Two Tone Cardstock creations that help make quick and fun Summer projects!

I'm featuring the Made with Sweetness Scrapbooking Workshop Kit, but you could use ANY of the Scrapbook Kits and create a similar experience. 

Almost every Scrapbooking Workshop Kit comes with Two Tone Cardstock and that is one of the reasons I instantly thought of it. I am currently in Colorado, spending time with family after the passing of my father, and did not bring any of my Stampin' UP! supplies. So, I didn't want to order anything that I already have at home that isn't a consumable (like my Paper Trimmer, Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine, etc.)

They are quick and easy because they come with well written directions. No "thinking" needed. For me designing takes up like 80% of my stamping time. 

Summer is also fresh fruit season, which makes this set perfect!

This kit comes with 6 different layouts, but here is just 2 of their designs. I stayed pretty true to the kit design, but will share with you some of my small changes.

First, can you see the Two Tone cardstock in this photo above? 

Light side of the Misty Moonlight is the page base, and the mattes are in the darker side. 

The die cut circles were precut (nice) and are just a shade lighter then both sides of the Two Tone.

The circles were supposed to be embossed (I have the embossing folder at home) but I changed it up. 

I can pull out my circles and emboss later or I might use them to journal on. 

When creating slide out pockets, just make sure you create a gap for the adhesive. I used a pencil (a pencil is your best friend in the scrapbooking world) and lightly traced the circle, so I would know where not to place glue.

Here is the second layout without pictures. Again it uses the lighter side of the Misty Moonlight for the page base. 

The darker side of the Two Tone cardstock really make the photos stand out. 

This layout taught me how to create a pull out for the hugging pictures. Top hug was his last hug to his grandpa and the bottom one was a hug from almost 10 years ago. 

I am so grateful for this AMAZING kit to help me "preserve" these memories to last for years to come.
