Tuesday's Tip at Ten- Group Your Dies

Tuesday's Tip at Ten: Group Your Dies!

What does that mean? Well, when you need more than one image die cut out, stamp them all onto one sheet of cardstock and them through your die cutting machine together. This does take a little bit of skill and practice because the dies can move if you are not using a magnetic plate to cut on. This will help save time and paper in the long run and doesn't want to have more of those!

I used the Yeti To Party Bundle which is only available in September.

Wonderful Wednesday- Paper Pumpkin Spooky Treats Bonus Card

It is Wonderful Wednesday! That means when you order from my online store today (or any Wednesday this month) I'll send you the Adhesive Backed Sequins & Gems!!!
Just use the Hostess Code, PYYA7MVR, at checkout!

Today's Wonderful Wednesday Project comes from the stamp set found in the Spooky Treats Paper Pumpkin Kit. This card was inspired by the suggested Alternate Cards on the back of the instructions. I liked this one because it shows off a lot of the stamps that weren't used when making the kit.

Here is my ghost card next to the ghost treat box holder (the one I made using the Spooky Treats kit).

Learn how to make this "spooky" card using the Stampin' UP! supplies and steps below!!!

Supplies
Paper Pumpkin Spooky Treats Stamp Set
Paper- Fresh Freesia, Basic Black, Orchid Oasis, Basic White
Glimmer Speciality Paper
Ink- Basic White Mango Melody, Orchid Oasis
Blending Brushes
Black Baker's Twin
Stars Embellishment from Spooky Treats Kit
Dimensionals

Measurements
Orchid Oasis: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Fresh Freesia: 3 3/4 x 5
2 x 1/4
Basic Black: 4 x 5 1/4
2 1/4 x 1/2
Glimmer: 1/4 x 2 1/2
Baker's Twine: 24 inches

Steps
  1. Measure, score and cut your paper.
  2. Use Blending Brushes and the Mango Melody and Orchid Oasis to make "soft" ink spots all over the Fresh Freesia.
  3. Stamp the ghost with the Basic White ink all over the Fresh Freesia. Use a Blending Brush and a little white ink over the ghost to create a "colored" in look.
  4. Stamp two sets of the stars in Mango Melody.
  5. Glue your ghost paper to the Basic Black matte.
  6. For the stripes of paper, rip one end on each of them. Glue on the Basic Black one first. Then the Glimmer. Lastly, glue on the Fresh Freesia. Have them all have different starting points.
  7. Stamp the "spooky" in Orchid Oasis and fussy cut it out with your paper snips. Attach with mini dimensionals.
  8. Wrap about 24 inches of Baker's Twine around the back of the Basic Black matte and tie a large bow.
  9. Glue to the cardbase and embellish with the Black Stars.

Tuesday's Tip at Ten: Coloring Your Baker's Twine

Tuesday's Tip at Ten: How to change the color of your Baker's Twine!

Have you ever started making a card and thought "Wow, this card would look great with some baker's twine." Only to realize you don't have a color to match the card you made... No worries, you can change the color of your Baker's Twine with Stampin' Blends or even your ink pad!

The Stampin' Blends is the easiest way to "color on" the new color on one side, flip it and color on the other side. Just make sure you have a piece of paper underneath your twine to color on as well.

If you don't have Stampin' Blends you could run your Baker's Twine over your ink pad. This way is a little messier but would totally work. Just let it dry for a little bit before you start to use it on your project.

Happy Stampin' Everyone!!!

Miss Monday- Christmas Scottie Card

Stampin' Friends, I would like to introduce you to our Kiwi Dog! My husband got her from the shelter on September 2nd and it was NOT love at first sight for me. Hear me out, she is almost 4 years old and is an Australian Kelpie. She has one blue eye and one brown eye (so creepy at first but it has grown on us). She was in the shelter for 3 months and before that we know nothing about her. She is super sweet BUT she is afraid of everything and when she is scared she runs and hides. Needless to say, we had a rough first week together and at times I honestly was thinking maybe we should return her or maybe we should get our dog a therapy dog. She needs a buddy to teach her how to be a "family dog". But last week we turned a HUGE corner and she is doing so much better. Is she still afraid of everything? Yes, but she isn't running or hiding nearly as much as before. I've also caught her wagging her tail all of the time (when she first came she was not wagging it). So today's Miss Monday card was made with her in mind...You are always loved.

This stamp set does say "Christmas" on it but it can be used for so much more!

It has a punch that matches one of the stamped images, but this one was fussy cut out and stamped in Early Espresso ink.

I just love how simple this card is and the colors I used to make it look more feminine and our Kiwi Dog will always be loved by us even though she has her struggles. Because let's face it, who doesn't have struggles and can be hard to love???

Supplies
Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper
Glossy Dots
Paper- Fresh Freesia
Ink- Fresh Freesia, Thick Basic White,  & Early Espresso

Measurements
Thick Basic White: 5 1/2 x 8 1/2 scored @ 4 1/4
Fresh Freesia: 4 x 5 1/4
1 x 2 1/2
DSP: 3 3/4 x 5
Basic White: 2 x 2

Steps
  1. Measure, score, and cut your paper.
  2. Punch out one end of the the 1 x 2 1/2 Fresh Freesia with the Lovely Labels Pick A Punch. Stamp on it in Early Espresso the saying "You are always loved."
  3. Stamp on the Basic White the dog in Early Espresso and the collar and side bow in Fresh Freesia. Fussy cut the dog and the side bow.
  4. Assemble: Glue the DSP to the Fresh Freesia matte. Glue that to the cardbase. Attach the label, dog, and side bow with dimensionals.
  5. Embellish with the Glossy Dots (I had put 3 on at first and some time between making the card and taking the pictures one fell off. I didn't notice it until I had already taken the pictures. So there is 2 on mine but I recommend 3 Glossy Dots).
