Tuesday's Tip at Ten- How to Make a Fake Bow

Tuesday's Tip at Ten: How to Make a Fake Bow

Here is my step by step guide on how to make a fake bow. First, a fake bow is sometimes needed when you want to add a bow behind paper and don't want to knot make it too big or bulky.

1. Lay your ribbon down flat.
2. Pull one end over to go pass the other end and create a loop. Use finger to hold down at the center.
3. Take that top loose end on the left and create a loop. Again, use finger to hold down at the center.
4. Pinch in the center where the ribbons cross and play with the loops and ends until the size is what you want it to be.
5. Lay it on the back of the paper you are attaching it to and put dimenionals over the center to attach to the paper and hold it down.
6. Flip over to see your finished fake bow look.

You can watch me make the fake bow at minute 36:00 on the video below.

I love Valentine's Day cards with a little bit of blue. I feel it makes it look more masculine even when surrounded by hearts and flowers.

Tuesday's Tip at Ten- Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder

Tuesday's Tip at Ten is all about my tip when using the Sweet Citrus Hybrid Embossing Folder.
This embossing folder was made so that you could have your citrus shapes embossed and with the option to die cut them out as well.
My tip is to stamp first on your nice flat cardstock and then embossed and lastly die cut out. This will help with proper lineup and is is always easier to stamp on a flat surface instead of an raised embossed one.

Because the citrus shapes are a cluster of 4 stamps together, you can die cut them out (all 4 of them) at the same time with the cluster of dies as well.

*Bonus Tip, use your Stamperatus for perfect line up and ink coverage each time. Emboss some scratch paper and use that to help line up where you should place the stamps to line up just right with the inked images.

Happy Stampin' Everyone!!!

Tuesday's Tip at Ten- Color Your Rhinestones

Tuesday's Tip at Ten is the combination of two of my favorite Stampin' UP! products!
Rhinestone Basic Jewels + Stampin' Blends = Custom Colored Bling

Just grab the Blend color you need to match the card you have in mind and use the Brush Tip to color the Rhinestone. It is best to color directly on the sheet the Rhinestones are on and then remove and add to your project.

The possibilities are endless!

3.     Line up the stamped image inside the Sweet Citrus Embossing Folder and run through your Stampin” Cut & Emboss Machine (it is okay if it doesn’t line up perfectly).

4.     Stamp in Garden Green the saying “Have a Zesty Birthday!” onto the banner Basic White piece and cut each end diagonally with your Paper Snips.

5.     Attach with Seal the DSP to the front of the cardbase. Attach over that at a slant the stamped and embossed Basic White. Attach the banner piece with Dimensionals.

6.     Use the Dark Parakeet Party Stampin’ Blends to color 3 Rhinestones and attach to the card front near the stamped limes.

7.     Use Seal to attach the 4” x 5 ¼” Basic White for the inside of the card.

Quick Tip: Stamp first and then emboss.

It is easy to line up the stamped images with the embossing folder. I am okay with mine not lining up perfectly but you can line it just right if you try.
